Kicking off the week, U.S. embassy representatives, Trevor Olson, Deputy Public Affairs Officer, and Munara Munduzbaeva, Cultural Affairs Specialist, joined the delegation for the program briefing to introduce the week’s schedule, before the group ventured outdoors.

The delegation received a brief history lesson, as they toured Ala‐Too Square in the heart of Bishkek. To experience the majesty of Kyrgyzstan’s mountain landscape, they visited Ala‐Archa National Park for a light hike on the snow-covered trails. Supara, an ethno-complex, hosted the welcome dinner in a traditional yurt, highlighting Kyrgyzstan’s cultural history and food. Fellows from Kyrgyzstan and the region shared their work and the activities they have engaged in since the completion of the TechWomen program, highlighting their local impact.
